MSO Logistics Houston Terminal | Safe & Compliant Tank Storage and Liquid Bulk Shipping in Houston, Texas, USA
MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal is a technically advanced, fully integrated liquid bulk storage and handling facility strategically located within the Port of Houston — the largest port in the United States by foreign waterborne tonnage and the operational nucleus of America’s energy and petrochemical supply chain. Designed to meet the rigorous demands of global commodity traders, chemical manufacturers, energy producers, and food-grade liquid processors, our Houston Terminal delivers measurable operational performance, verifiable product integrity, and end-to-end supply chain traceability across all product categories and throughput volumes.
As a Netherlands-based terminal operator with deep expertise in European and global liquid bulk logistics, MSO Logistics applies internationally benchmarked operational standards, robust HSE management systems, and advanced digital infrastructure to every aspect of our Houston Terminal’s operations — ensuring that our clients receive consistent, quantifiable service quality at every stage of the storage and handling cycle.
Products We Store at Our Houston Terminal:
MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal is certified, operationally configured, and technically equipped to provide safe, compliant storage and handling across four primary liquid bulk product categories:
- Crude Oil & Petroleum Products
- Petrochemicals & Industrial Chemicals
- Biofuels & Renewable Energy Products
- Edible Oils & Food-Grade Liquids
Why Choose Our Houston Terminal?
MSO Logistics’ selection of Houston as a core terminal location reflects a deliberate, data-driven strategic decision. The Port of Houston and its surrounding Gulf Coast infrastructure represent the highest concentration of liquid bulk production, refining, petrochemical processing, and export capacity anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. Our terminal’s positioning within this ecosystem provides clients with direct access to the region’s extensive pipeline grid, deep-water vessel infrastructure, and multimodal distribution network — translating into measurably reduced transit times, lower logistics costs, and greater supply chain resilience.
Our operational model is built on three core technical pillars: asset reliability, product integrity, and regulatory compliance — each supported by dedicated systems, trained personnel, and continuous performance monitoring to ensure consistent delivery against client KPIs.
The Houston Terminal Features & Capabilities:
High-Specification Tank Storage Infrastructure: MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal operates a modern tank farm comprising carbon steel and stainless steel storage vessels across a broad capacity range, engineered to accommodate high-volume commodity throughput as well as precision specialty product management. All tanks are fitted with automated radar-based level gauging systems, programmable temperature monitoring and control, nitrogen blanketing and purging capability, vapor recovery units (VRU) compliant with U.S. EPA regulations, and centralized SCADA-integrated inventory management — delivering real-time product data and full operational transparency to clients at all times.
Tank configurations are available for ambient, heated, and temperature-controlled storage, with dedicated lines, pumps, and manifolds ensuring strict product segregation and eliminating cross-contamination risk across all product categories.
Multimodal Infrastructure & Port Connectivity: The Houston Ship Channel’s deep-draft navigation capability — maintained at 46.5 feet — supports direct berth access for VLCCs, Aframax tankers, and ocean-going chemical vessels at MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal. Supplementary connectivity is provided via the Gulf Coast’s extensive refined product and petrochemical pipeline network, multi-bay road tanker loading and unloading gantries, and rail spur access — enabling fully optimized, mode-agnostic product movements for import, export, domestic distribution, and cross-trade operations.
Comprehensive Technical & Value-Added Services: MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal delivers a structured portfolio of technical and value-added services designed to reduce operational complexity and enhance supply chain value for our clients. These include precision product heating and temperature maintenance, specification blending and quality adjustment operations, independent third-party inspection coordination, certified custody transfer metering, representative sampling and in-house laboratory analysis, product repackaging and drumming, and U.S. Customs bonded storage management. All services are executed under documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) and subject to continuous quality assurance review.
U.S. Customs Bonded Terminal Operations: MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal holds a valid U.S. Customs Bonded Warehouse license, enabling the storage of imported goods under bond without the immediate payment of U.S. customs duties or applicable taxes. Duty liability is deferred until the point of formal entry into U.S. commerce, providing clients with a structured mechanism to optimize working capital deployment, manage import duty exposure, and support re-export operations across North American and international trade lanes. All bonded storage operations are conducted in strict compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and subject to regular CBP audit.
HSE Management, Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Controls: MSO Logistics’ Houston Terminal operates under a comprehensive, integrated HSE management system aligned with U.S. EPA Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act regulations, OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) standards for highly hazardous chemicals, USCG maritime facility security requirements under the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), and API standards for aboveground storage tank design, inspection, and maintenance including API 650, API 653, and API 2000.
Environmental control infrastructure includes engineered secondary containment bunds with a minimum 110% tank capacity, closed-loop vapor recovery and emissions control systems, stormwater management and treatment facilities, continuous stack and ambient air quality monitoring, and a dedicated spill response and emergency management program. All HSE performance data is tracked against defined KPIs and reviewed through a structured management review cycle.
